The people of Farafenni were devastated with the news of the demise of their son Mr. Ansu Dibba who met his dead at his residence in Italy two days ago.
Chempes, as was fondly called, travelled to Italy through the ''back way'' about a year ago and just like other migrants, he was on the process of settling down when he met his sudden death.
According to Ansu's brother Dr. Amadou Dibba who lives in Seattle, Washington. "He was a gentle, humble, giving, and kind human being. Ansu Dibba, whom must of you knew as Mario Chempes had a beautiful soul. Chempes was a pillar in our family, and we are all devastated."
Growing up in Farafenni, I knew Chempes. He was one of the first people to own a tele-center in Farafenni back in the 90s when the Telecenter business was booming. His telecenter was at a very strategic location right next to the Farafenni Community Center and Eddy's Night Club opposite Pa Alhagie Manjie's house along the main road to the market. His store was well organized and professional. He spent the whole day taking care of his business and interacting with his customers. He laughed and smiled at everyone who passes by even if they weren't his customer.
According to Dr. Dibba, Ansu had not complained of any sickness. His death is sudden and an autopsy was been carried out by the Italian authorities. Funeral arrangements have already started and efforts are been made to try to send Ansu's body back to Farafenni. A gofundme account is already set up to raise funds for that.
"He met his untimely dead in Italy today. We are saddened by the news. May his soul Rest In Peace. May the Almighty grant him Jannah. We are seeking donations to fly him out of Italy to Farafenni and make burial arrangements. There will be a gofund account set up soon and you can donate through the website. We thank you all for your condolences and support." Write Dr. Dibba.
