One of the country's prolific Mbalax star, Yusupha Ngum alias Jollofman has recently dropped his new album in the market. The 8 tracks album entitled "Yaay Borom" comprises educative songs and
entertainment exclusively sponsored by Gamcel.the nation's leading GSM
providers. The album preaches for love, unity and togetherness among
other issues in the society. Currently the cassette is available in
most recording studios in the country including the Kerewan Sound,
Sawallo Couture and Jagaranda. As part of the launching of the album,
Korka Jallow, the manager for Jollofman and his team also visited the
managing director of Daily Observer, Nenneh Macduaoll Gaye, where some
CD cassettes were presented to her at her office in Bakau
The visit according to them , was meant to formally invite her to the
launching of the album which is slated for the March 28. Korka Jallow,
manager for Jollofman music, disclosed that they called on the Observer
boss ,to saw her their appreciation as she is a kind of person who
always support the young people in their ventures towards development.
For her part Ajaratou Neneh Macdoull Gaye acknowledge the invitation to
the program. She pledged her personal support in development of music. She described music as another way of uniting people. "No one man
can take the nation forward, we have to come together and work
collectively so that our country can move forward, this has always been
the priorities of our head of state. He always encourages young people
to venture in self help initiatives, this is among those that he
encourages. According to her, music is another instrument that can
bring together many young people and serve them as a platform where
they exchange ideas and learn from each other. All these, she noted is
gear towards paving way for unity. "If there is peace it makes
development to flourish easy, your work is important because it also
teaches people and also promote unity in the society," she added.
She described music as a very important key ways to reach to young
people, Assuring them, she will also continue to support the young in
her own little ways. Speaking earlier, Jolof man thanked Ajaratou Neneh
Macdoull Gaye for her words of wisdom and encouragement, and promised
her that they will also live to expectations and serve as ambassadors
of peace in the society.
